Having a balanced lifestyle is easier than you might imagine. In fact, with only few small changes to your daily regimen, you may uncover a more balanced you.

GET HYDRATED

Not only is water totally refreshing, but hydration is a huge part of a healthy lifestyle. To stay hydrated throughout the day, we suggest keeping a bottle of water with you for easy access. If you find that your plain glass of H2O could use something extra, try adding a lemon or lime slice. Don’t forget to rinse your fruit with clean water before adding it to your drink.

GET YOUR ZZZ'S

According to the National Sleep Foundation, adults should get between 7-9 hours of sleep every night. Many adults do not get the recommended amount of sleep, which may have an effect on their bodies. Some studies suggest that not getting enough sleep may even contribute to weight gain and other health issues.

GET YOUR GREENS

You know that a balanced diet full of fruits, veggies, proteins, and whole grains is one part of a healthy life, but getting the right amount of vitamins isn’t always simple. A good start is to eat a variety of nutritious foods from all five MyPlate food groups. Strive to fill half of your plate with a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. Check with your health care provider about the need to take a vitamin and mineral supplement, especially if you are dieting, following a vegan diet, or limiting food choices for certain conditions. Of course, if you are pregnant or breast feeding always seek the advice of a medical professional.
